Sigma Nu's Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship

The POE Scholarship is given to two exemplary high school senior males attending the University of Michigan in the fall. Two University of Michigan freshmen males will be chosen to receive a one-time direct payment of $2,500 each.

 

Scholarship Eligibility

Applicants must be high school seniors who will be entering as freshman students at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in the fall of the year the award is offered. Each applicant must also have achieved a minimum 3.0 GPA through his junior year of high school. Prospects from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

Obligations

Applying for the scholarship in NO WAY obligates the applicant to join Sigma Nu fraternity. The scholarship amount of $2,500 will be granted after the completion of 12 credit hours, or one semester as a full-time student.

Basis of Selection

We are seeking young men who are intellectually, physically, and morally capable of leadership in any field. The scholarship selection committee of Sigma Nu fraternity considers a large number of attributes in the selection of Pursuit of Excellence scholars. The distinctiveness of this honor comes from a vast array of attributes considered. Intellectual strength is an obvious prerequisite, but is not considered in mere isolation to other qualities. We seek young men who have demonstrated a good blend of character, intellect and good humor to receive this honor.
