University of Michigan

Sigma Nu was originally founded at the University of Michigan in 1902. After leaving campus in 2010, Sigma Nu returned in Fall 2018 and was rechartered in Fall 2020. Our historic chapter room, as shown in the picture above, is the pride of our home at 700 Oxford Rd.

Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship

The POE Scholarship is given to to two exemplary high school senior males attending the University of Michigan in the fall. Two University of Michigan Freshmen males will receive a one-time direct payment of $2,500 each. The scholarship will be granted after the completion of 12 credit hours.



In order to be eligible for the scholarship you must be an entering Freshmen male student at the University of Michigan in Fall 2021.

Basis of Selection

In a candidate for the scholarship we are looking for a man who exemplifies leadership in any endeavor.

The selection committee will consider the following during the selection process of the Pursuit of Excellence Scholars

Scholastic Achievement of a High Standard 

Integrity of Character of the Highest Order 

Goal Orientation and Creativity 

Motivation and Persistence in Pursuing Worthy Goals 

Ability to Lead, Communicate Effectively, and Motivate a Team 

Network Driven, Extraverted, Demonstrated Interest in One's Fellow Beings 

Use of Talents to the Fullest Potential
